Friday marks Stan Bunger's last day in the anchor chair at KCBS Radio.

The mayors of the Bay Area's major cities – London Breed of San Francisco, Libby Schaaf of Oakland and San Jose's Sam Liccardo – couldn't let the occasion go by without officially marking it for the history books.

That includes the declaration of "Stan Bunger Day" in San Francisco.

"You've been doing this for so long and so many people in the Bay Area have been listening to you and relying on you to provide clear and objective information," Breed said on Friday. "It's an absolutely amazing career."

"Thank you for the work, the integrity, the trust," she added.
