EVENT: San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade
Happy New Year, one and all! It’s the year of the tiger, let me hear your roar.
Named one of the top 10 parades in the world by International Festivals and Events Association, the San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade is one of the few remaining night illuminated parades in North America and the biggest parade celebrating the Lunar New Year outside of Asia. Festivities begin Saturday at 6 p.m., and more information can be found here.
EAT: Z and Y
Enjoy an indulgence of food slowly turning on a lazy susan at Z and Y, a very special Sichuan restaurant in San Francisco's Chinatown. The food is fresh and bangin' with flavors, and many dishes come with a generous kick of spice. Chef-owner Li Jun Han and wife Michelle invite you to join them for unique, one-off Lunar New Year menus on Saturday and Monday. You will not be disappointed and, in fact, will be totally spoiled by the chef who has cooked for two Chinese presidents. Go on, treat yourself.

FILM: "Downton Abbey: A New Era"
The cast of the British TV show "Downton Abbey" return in their second movie, entering "A New Era." The trailer sees the Downton estate being taken over by actors and crew members as the Crawleys escape to the South of France to a villa that was left to Lady Violet by a mysterious man. All the usual suspects return for this new movie and storyline. The upstairs and downstairs drama continues when the film comes to big screens in the Bay Area and nationwide in May.
MUSIC: Mac is Back
After a near two-year shutdown, Paul McCartney is hitting the road again and you are invited. He wanted to "Get Back," and he is with a 12-date North American tour, including a stop at Oakland Arena on May 6. See you there at one of the best music performances you will ever witness. The legendary Beatle still rocks!
EVENT: Black History
In celebration of Black History month, Alameda Health System Foundation is excited to welcome you to a dynamic live in-person and virtual hybrid event with Dr. Joan Wicks – educator, athlete and the mother of Amanda Gorman, the first National Youth Poet Laureate. The event begins at 6 p.m. on Friday.
WINE TIME: San Francisco Wine Society
The San Francisco Wine Society invites you to its ribbon-cutting and anniversary party, which runs until 9 p.m. on Friday night at 408 Merchant St. Come one and all as they celebrate their first year and launch their swanky second parklet!
