The tasty festival is May 20-22 at various venues around Healdsburg including The Matheson where Chef Dustin Valette will play host to rock star chefs for the Saturday cooking demo sessions with yours truly as emcee. Partial proceeds will benefit the local Healdsburg High School Future Farmers of America.
EAT: FUTURE DINING
Take a massive bite into the future with an immersive 360 virtual dining experience at Santa Clara's new, modern kid on the block, iChina. The new American Chinese cuisine by Chef Eddie Lam is worthy of a Michelin star. Standout dishes: the yummy Baja striped bass, mouthwatering Pork Jowl claypot, the flavorful ribeye and bone marrow. Do not leave without enjoying a scrumptious sweet ending with the Choux au craqueline trio. However the private dining room is, the show stopper and where you can sit among the stars or eat under the sea in a virtual setting that is paired with your culinary options, but don't worry the cuisine is not virtual. Enjoy weekend afternoon tea too and chef's special spring tasting menu ($118 per person). You will not be be disappointed. iChina is one of the sexiest spots I have ever dined and is located on two floors at Sun Valley Mall.

Plan your visit here.
FOOD: ASTRA AT ST. REGIS SF
The star of our recent lunch at the new ASTRA restaurant at St. Regis SF, aside from Chef Mikey Adams was this scrumptious dish: Short Rib Torte with shaved truffle (olive fed Wagyu Beef Rib Tartine with orgy of goodness; fig jam, lamb chopper gouda, wild arugula California chilis and Périgord truffles). This extraordinary dish was one of those last supper-bucket list - better than your mama's cooking plates. Created by a rock star Chef Adams who's doing next level, no limits flavor-bomb cooking at ASTRA restaurant at the St. Regis. Make a reservation soon before this culinary secret gets out.
MUST SEE: CORRESPONDENTS DINNER
The Daily Show's Trevor Noah headlines the first White House Correspondents' Association Dinner since 2019 on Saturday at 5 p.m. on C-SPAN. President Joe Biden is also expected to attend the roast but not the full dinner. For the schedule and former presidential remarks venture here.
TV: FAREWELL JAMES CORDEN
It's farewell to funnyman and CBS Late Late Show host James Corden. The wickedly talented British TV Star has announced his departure after this next season. Corden brought us sidewalk musicals and the sensational Carpool Karaoke attracting the world's biggest stars: Adele, Elton and Paul McCartney. I see a fruitful career in movies and theatre in Cordon's future. He will be missed at CBS. Catch Corden weeknights for one more year here.
