A 36-year-old Bay Area man was arrested last week after allegedly trying to board a flight to Amsterdam with a minor whom he is suspected of having public, unlawful sex with in a Redwood City park.
Dylan Raymos is being held at the Maguire Correctional Facility according to San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office inmate logs. Raymos was arrested July 7 at San Francisco International Airport for violating a restraining order against a juvenile female victim after being flagged by airport security, Redwood City police said.
Police didn’t specify the victim's age. The age of consent in the Netherlands is 16.
Raymos is being held on $60,000 bail, according to a San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson: $50,000 on a felony charge of arranging a meeting with a minor for lewd purposes and $10,000 on a misdemeanor contempt of court charge for violating the judge’s order.
Redwood City police initially said in a release Monday morning that bail was set at $5 million.
Raymos was first arrested on June 15 in Menlo Park on an outstanding felony warrant, two weeks after Redwood City police received a tip about a couple having public sex at a park in the city. Police said they contacted Raymos and the victim, later learning he had an intimate relationship with her.
On June 16, Raymos was ordered not to contact the victim. Three days later, Raymos was released from custody after posting bail.
Raymos is scheduled to appear in court on July 21 at 1:30 p.m., according to inmate logs. The felony charge can be punished by up to a year in county jail and a $5,000 fine, while the misdemeanor can be punished by up to a year in county jail and a $1,000 fine.
