On Friday, victim Gianna Vitraelli was taken to Pediatric Intensive Care after she was attacked by a suspect with a pellet gun. On the same day, two other victims, a 9-year-old girl and a 42-year-old woman were also attacked, KNTV reported.

Vitraelli told the station she believes the attacks may have been encouraged by a TikTok challenge.

"My lungs felt compressed," she said. "It hurt really bad because it was hard to breathe."

Vitraelli was shot Friday afternoon while walking near Valley Fair Mall. The 42-year-old woman was in a Walmart parking lot on Stevens Creek Boulevard when she was shot. Less than an hour later, a 9-year-old girl was shot in the back near Westgate Mall, the station said.

The injuries of the 9-year-old and 42-year-old victims are not currently known.

The San Jose Police Department has opened an investigation into the additional pellet gun shootings and are currently trying to determine if the incidents are related. There are no suspects.

If the person, or persons, behind the pellet gun attacks is caught, they will be charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon.
