In February, 667,483 passengers traveled through the Oakland Airport, representing 79% of travelers since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the Oakland International Airport press release.

The second-highest month for travelers at the airport was November of 2021, and the total number of passengers reached 77% of pre-pandemic levels, the release said.

According to the airport, February 2022 saw an increase in travelers by 118.5% compared to February 2021. This past year travel traffic hit 8,504,340 passengers compared to last year's 4,081,916.

"Based on the statistics we have seen so far this year, the outlook for passenger traffic at OAK is steadily improving," Bryant L. Francis, Director of Aviation at the Port of Oakland said in a release. "With several exciting new airline route announcements, more passengers in the terminals, and travelers making plans for summer getaways, we aim to continue on the current trajectory throughout 2022."
