PG&E has canceled the Public Safety Power Shutoffs expected to impact the Bay Area this week due to improving weather conditions.

The shut-offs were scheduled to cut power in 10 counties across the state including Napa, Solano and Sonoma counties, affecting approximately 5,500 customers.

Despite the canceled PSPS, the gas and electric company warned that power outages may still occur, stating, "customers no longer being considered for a public safety power shutoff today should be aware that unexpected power outages are still possible for other reasons, including debris or wildlife coming into contact with powerlines."

Customers in the Central Valley, such as Kern County, may experience power loss at midnight on Thursday due to gusty winds in the area, the company said.
