San Jose police have turned to their community to aid in the investigation of a young woman whose body was found in a public landfill last month.

Officials released two images on Thursday of 33-year-old Allycia Kelley, hoping that someone with knowledge of the case will come forward with helpful information.

Kelley was discovered dead on May 19 at the Republic Services Newby Island Landfill. The landfill is located in Milpitas but falls under the jurisdiction of the San Jose police.

It was determined by investigators that Kelley’s body was taken to the facility in a routine landfill drop-off. However, the circumstance of the victim’s death has been ruled "suspicious" and is still under investigation.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call 408-277-5283.
