
Early Thursday morning a call came into the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office about a possible drowning at Tunitas Creek Beach in Unincorporated San Mateo County.
Deputies from the Coastside Patrol Bureau responded to the beach based on a report of a male subject who was in the water and distressed.
Upon arrival, the reporting parties told deputies that at around 4 a.m., one of their friends wandered off while they were on the beach and disappeared.
The missing person has been identified as Florentino Suan Pasco Jr., 36, a transient out of Stockton, California.
Pasco Jr.’s friends were unable to find him and believed he went into the water.
A search was conducted by the Sheriff's Office, Coast Guard and San Mateo
County Harbor Patrol. Several search and rescue teams were dispatched including a helicopter, rescue vessel, and drone.
But ultimately authorities were unable to locate Pasco Jr.
