After a brief hiatus, rain is back in the Bay Area forecast, expected to hit at the end of the weekend and into next week.

Those anxious to celebrate Halloween and Dia de los Muertos should not be discouraged, however, as weather experts reassure that the rain will hold off until festivities are over.

"It should be good for Halloween night," National Weather Service Meteorologist Sarah McCorkle told the San Francisco Chronicle. "It should stay dry."

There is a 30% chance that the rain will arrive late Sunday night after 11 p.m. and continue into Monday morning, bringing about 0.1 to 0.3 inches of water across the Bay. The precipitation will be a refreshing sprinkle compared to the immense rainfall experienced last weekend.

"We can definitely say it's not going to be anything like what we saw with the atmospheric river," she said to the paper. "We don't have to worry about that."

Despite the low intensity, light rain can be highly beneficial for a water barren California. As Peter Gleick, climate expert and co-founder of the Pacific Institute, told KCBS Radio, what weather officials hope for is minor rainfall over a few days that will soak into the ground, charge the snowpack up in the mountain and refill state reservoirs.
