A day after the leaked draft opinion indicating that the U.S. Supreme Court intends to overturn Roe v. Wade was made public, Bay Area residents showed up in droves to make their voices heard.
Protestors gathered first at Powell and Market streets and then marched across town to the iconic Women's Building in the Mission.
"The Supreme Court pays attention to what's going on across the country," said Natalie Hrizi, one of the organizers of Tuesday's demonstration.
"And whether you can make it to the Supreme Court and protest there as people are, or whether you have to do it in Chicago or LA or San Francisco, it's critical that people do it," she said.
Hrizi encouraged anyone feeling powerless about the draft to go out and demonstrate with others.
"The last thing we should do is be quiet," said Chrissy MacKnight, a Tuesday protestor. "We need to be loud, we need to be in solidarity – the only way we can fight this is if we unite."
The draft opinion isn't final, won't be until the Supreme Court officially reaches its decision.
In the meantime, demonstrators are planning another march in the city on Saturday.
