Residents of a San Jose community are fearful that they may be living among someone who is hunting their cats.
Neighbors are searching for a culprit after two house cats were shot with a pellet gun, causing alarm throughout the community, KPIX reported.

In a shocking discovery, Jennifer Ping and her husband Mike found a pellet lodged behind their three-year-old cat Lucifer's knee during a visit to the vet. "It didn’t make sense at all and then she was like, 'No, we found a pellet lodged behind his knee, it's already healed but, it's been a couple months at least, but he was shot,'" Ping said to the station.
This week, a second cat owner made a similar post, reporting that their pet had been shot in the neck. Ping reached out to the poster in hopes to find the offender, but the poster has not yet responded.
"They're clearly out looking for them," Ping said to the station. "I wanted to believe it was some dumb kid who found a gun and did something stupid but, when you hear it happened over and over again, then you start to wonder what kind of weirdo's living in your neighborhood."
Lucifer made a full recovery after being shot with the pellet gun, but the condition of the second cat is currently unknown.
