San Jose man fatally shot in front of his son; police ask for public's help to find suspects

The San Jose Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects responsible for fatally shooting a man in front of his son.

The Nguyen was shot on March 5 in the area of Glen Keats Court and Glen Ferguson Circle, according to police.

Officers arrived on the scene at about 5:54 a.m. to find Nguyen in the arms of his wife and daughter, suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

The 55-year-old father and husband was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said an investigation revealed that Nguyen saw the suspects tampering with his vehicle and went outside to stop them.

One of the suspects then shot Nguyen in front of his son, who was coming to his father’s aid, according to the SJPD.

Authorities said there were at least two suspects, and one was described as a male whose race is unknown.

Police are now asking for help to identify the suspect vehicle, which was described as a light blue or silver, four door BMW, with possible damage to the left rear taillight, both driver side windows and windshield.

Although Nguyen was Vietnamese, police are not investigating the killing as a hate crime.
