San Mateo police have arrested four teenagers in connection with Wednesday night's shooting at Hillsdale Shopping Center.
The San Mateo Police Department arrested four 16-year-old boys on Thursday on charges of assault with a firearm, attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime. Police said they were booked into Hillcrest Juvenile Hall in San Mateo.

Police found a 20-year-old San Mateo man who sustained a gunshot wound in a parking lot adjacent to the mall on Wednesday night. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where police said he is in critical but stable condition and "fully expected to survive."
Investigators determined he was shot in the parking lot before the four suspects fled. After speaking with witnesses, processing the parking lot for evidence and obtaining security footage from the mall, police identified the suspects.
San Mateo police said the department worked alongside the Belmont Police Department, as well as the San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force and Gang Intelligence Unit, to execute search warrants and find "evidence linking all four (suspects) to this incident."
The police haven't identified a motive, and an investigation is ongoing. Police said anyone who was at Hillsdale mall between 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday who has "information that could be useful" to an investigation should contact Sgt. Paul Pak by calling 650-522-7660 or emailing here.
