John "Talia" Paasi was arrested Tuesday morning in Charlotte, North Carolina and the second suspect, Isileli Mahe was arrested in Honolulu Hawaii, the San Mateo police reported. Detectives have organized the transport of both suspects back to San Mateo County.

On October 30, 2020, San Mateo Police responded to a shooting at the 1600 block of Eleanor Drive at around 9:40 a.m. When officers arrived, they found Ueta Savelio Muasika Jr. shot 14 times in his driveway, police said. Muasika was pronounced dead on the scene.

Muasika's 2-year-old son was also shot in the face. The child was taken to the hospital and has since recovered from his injuries, officers reported.

In a video preference call, San Mateo police said this "attack was personal and targeted." Police believe this attack was related to a case in 2019 where a woman died in a fire "that was deliberately set."

According to the San Mateo police, Paasi, one of the suspects knew the victim for over 15 years. Paasi does have a criminal history and has a current firearm case in Sacramento.

The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information regarding the incident or the suspects is asked to call (650) 522-7660.
