San Mateo police investigate 'suspicious death' at bus stop

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – San Mateo police are conducting an investigation in connection with a "suspicious death" at a SamTrans bus stop Saturday morning.

At around 6:48 a.m., officers from the San Mateo Police Department arrived at a SamTrans bus stop on El Camino Real near West Hillsdale Boulevard after receiving a report of a person slumped over on a beach.

They discovered a 48-year-old man who was pronounced dead.

Upon examining the scene, officers opened a homicide investigation to "ensure all responsible parties are brought to justice," the department reported.

Anyone who was driving southbound on El Camino Real between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Saturday and may have seen the man, or has surveillance equipment on their vehicle that could have captured him, are asked to contact 650-522-7660.
