Tuesday morning, the region saw showers pop up in the North Bay and San Francisco. Clouds are forecast to push across the Bay Area, causing some wet morning commutes, and will continue with scattered rain throughout the day.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Dalton Behringer told KCBS Radio there is a 15-20% chance of a thunderstorm. "Some may hear thunder and most probably won't," he said.
Around a half inch to an inch of rain is expected to fall by the end of Tuesday with temperatures in the low to mid 30s inland and 40s along the coast Wednesday and Thursday morning.
On Monday, the Bay Area saw heavier rain from a storm which has moved north to the Sierra. In Tahoe, residents are in for snowfall throughout the day. "Three to four feet of snow in some places," Behringer said. "Road closures through to Wednesday and a really good adding to the snowpack up there."
Meteorologists in Sacramento are warning Bay Area residents to stay away due to dangerous conditions.
