SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – More than two years since the pandemic began, travel has been going back to normal in slow, gradual stages.
For more, stream KCBS Radio now.
The latest stage has several airlines that suspended their service for most of the pandemic will soon be again taking off from San Francisco International Airport.
These airlines also include some brand new ones that will begin flying to and from the airport beginning next week.
“That for us is a good sign of confidence from our industry, a sign that things are starting to recover,” said SFO spokesperson Doug Yakel.
Two Canadian companies, Flair Airlines and Air Transat are beginning their service at the airport. Condor Airlines will start offering nonstop flight service from Frankfurt, Germany to SFO.
A new low-cost carrier, Breeze, will launch service to five destinations, according to Yakel, “brand new carrier from the entrepreneur that launched JetBlue, David Neeleman,” he said.
The five locations Breeze Airways will be serving are Richmond, Virginia, Charleston, South Carolina, Louisville, Kentucky, San Bernardino, California, and Provo, Utah, said Yakel.
Service to White Plains, New York will also be added, later in the year.
