Allison Mack, best known for her role on the television series Smallville and for her leadership role in sex cult NXIVM, surrendered herself early to the Dublin Federal Correctional Institute Monday, according to reporting by The Mercury News.

Sentenced in June, Mack joins the Dublin prison as inmate no. 90838-053 and is expected to serve three years in federal custody.

Mack is the prison’s latest high-profile inmate after TV stars Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman both served time there for their separate roles in the college admissions scandal.

The actor, 39, was first arrested in 2018 and pleaded guilty in 2019 to allegations that she coerced and helped brainwash women into joining a secret society. The cult was created by multi-level marketer Keith Raniere.

NXIVM was based in Albany, New York for years and touted itself as a self-help organization. But the reality, according to widespread, in-depth reporting was that women were being coerced into giving up compromising information about themselves and becoming Raniere’s sex slaves, branded with his initials.

By pleading guilty to her charges, Mack received a more lenient sentence than the 14 to 17.5 years outlined by federal guidelines.

At her sentencing, U.S. District Judge Nicholas Garaufis called Mack "an essential accomplice" and a "willing and proactive ally" of Raniere, but also said, "I don’t doubt that you were manipulated and also felt captive."

Mack renounced Raniere at the sentencing. "I made choices I will forever regret," she said.

Her stint in federal prison was supposed to begin on Sept. 29, but she arrived at the Dublin facility on Monday.

Mack has been under house arrest at her parents’ home since her arrest in 2018, and has spent the past few years getting an associate’s degree at community college and taking classes towards getting her Bachelor’s degree at UC Berkeley.

Dublin has a history of other high-profile inmates, including publishing heiress Patty Hearst and Sara Jane Moore, who attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford in 1975.
