The WHO said booster shots for the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine are not necessary at this time.
Despite that advice, San Francisco’s Department of Public Health is offering booster shots to anyone who received the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
"Taiwan does not have enough vaccines, so I’m going to get one more," a woman waiting in line for the booster told KCBS Radio, explaining that she is traveling home to Taiwan tomorrow and is concerned about the delta variant.
Another booster patron, Esteban Torres, explained that he is worried about the limited capability of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

"I got the J&J and its efficacy is only at 60%," he said, "so I would like to get as much protection as possible."
The Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital made the booster shot a simple and easy experience. "Building five, second floor. You don’t have to make an appointment, you just show up," said Torres. "I showed up here at 11 a.m., registered and now I am in line."
"The thing is, however, I think they have a limited supply," he warned. "I just made the cut."
