The county's Department of Health and Social Services has also identified two probable cases of monkeypox, pending confirmation from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
"Public Health is monitoring the situation closely to ensure the health and safety of Solano County residents and limit the spread of the disease," Solano County Health Officer Dr. Bela Matyas said on Tuesday. "Though the risk of infection is very low, we encourage people who may have been exposed to contact their medical provider immediately and watch for symptoms."
Current risk to the public is described as "very low."
There are currently 250 confirmed and probable cases of monkeypox in California, where local health and elected officials have described a dire need for continuing supply of vaccine for the rare disease.
Cases of monkeypox continue to disproportionately affect gay and bisexual men, transgender people and others in the Bay Area's LGBTQ+ community.
