Monica De Leon, 29, of San Mateo, was walking with a dog in Tepatitlán de Morelos, Jalisco, Mexico, on November 29, when she was allegedly forced into a van. According to the group, the van drove off and De Leon has not been seen or heard from since.

De Leon's family reported her disappearance to state Sen. Alex Padilla and has alerted the U.S. State Department — an agency that tracks Americans who have gone missing out of the country.

"We the family ask that everyone continues to support us by pressuring heads of state and people of influence to provide all and any resources to those aiding in her search," the missing woman's family wrote in a statement. "Through your efforts the State Department has now contacted us and will be notifying the offices of Padilla, Speier, and Feinstein to provide support.
Continue to spread the word about Monica and reach out to representatives. The more people engage the more momentum we will have in assistance from the government."

De Leon is 5'5", has short black and blonde hair and was wearing black clothing at the time of her reported abduction.
