Dogpatch, an up-and-coming area that sits between Potrero Hill and the bay, was ranked as number 36 by the hospitality website Time Out following a survey taken by thousands of readers.

The 2022 Time Out Index survey asked city-dwellers to discuss the "coolest spots in their city right now," which was then combined with input from editors to create the fifth edition of the "world's coolest neighborhoods."

Time Out described their list as areas with "accessible, cutting-edge culture and nightlife; brilliant and affordable food and drink; lively street life and big community vibes."

Ranked in between Kelham Island in Sheffield, United Kingdom and Ximending in Taipei, Taiwan, Dogpatch is praised as "one of San Francisco's most rapidly developing neighbourhoods and a haven for creatives taking advantage of the (slightly) more affordable studio and housing options."

Some honorable mentions from the area included The Palm Court at RH San Francisco, Ungrafted — a café wine bar, the beloved Greek chain Souvla and the Institute of Contemporary Art San Francisco.
