San Jose police have announced three arrests in a two-decades-old murder.
The victim, Nhin Phi Ha, was fatally stabbed while standing outside his apartment complex Avalani Ave. in northeast San Jose on Oct. 31, 2001. A friend was also stabbed, but survived the attack.

Ha died at the scene, police said.
Two suspects fled in an SUV driven by a third suspect.
Despite leads and several detectives working the case over the years, no arrests were ever made.
The case was assigned to the San Jose Police Department and Santa Clara County District Attorney cold case unit this past August. The team interviewed several witnesses again, which led to three suspects – Francis Dagayray, Eutropio Dagayray and Gilbert Meriales.

All three were arrested in San Jose last Wednesday.
They’ve been booked at the Santa Clara County Jail for homicide, assault with a deadly weapon and gang enhancements.
Police did not say what led to the stabbing.
