The City by the Bay is the fifth-best city in the U.S. for witches, according to a new ranking from Lawn Love. Consisting of the 200 biggest cities in the country, the ranking considered a city's access to covens, metaphysical supplies, healers, tarot readers and astrology classes, among other factors.

San Francisco has better access to spiritual shops, gemstone and mineral shops, herb and spice shops and candle stores than all but one other city (New York), and a higher concentration of witch, wiccan, pagan and magic groups than all but 14 of the country's biggest cities. The city ranked no lower than 35th in the categories of covens, health, spirituality and supplies.

California was well represented atop the ranking, especially in Los Angeles and Orange counties. Los Angeles (No. 2), Pasadena (No. 4), Orange (No. 6), Torrance (No. 9) and Fullerton (No. 10) all finished in the top 10.

In the Bay Area, Sunnyvale (No. 15) and Hayward (No. 22) all finished in the top 25. Of all the cities in the ranking, Sunnyvale was third in access to Reiki healers, naturopathic and holistic establishments, herbalists and yoga classes per 100,000 residents.

New York topped the list, while nearby Jersey City, New Jersey finished fourth. The Big Apple annually hosts Witchsfest USA, a pagan festival with performances, readings, rituals and a marketplace.
