Windsor Mayor Dominic Foppoli, who at least six women have accused of sexual assault, will not become a member of the Golden Gate Bridge District Board of Directors.
Just one week after his appointment by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors, Foppoli’s appointment has been rescinded.
“Had we known on Tuesday what we learned on Thursday from the San Francisco Chronicle, we would not have taken the vote on Tuesday,” Supervisor Chris Coursey said during Tuesday’s Board of Supervisor’s meeting.
Board Chair Linda Hopkins shared the sentiment.
“There is not a chance in hell that I would ever knowingly appoint a sexual predator and I had no idea that there were these kinds of allegation outstanding against Dominic Foppoli,” Supervisor Hopkins said.
During the meeting, supervisors discussed whether there should be a mechanism in place to discover “dirty laundry” before making appointments.
Foppoli has denied accusations of sexual assault by six women, with at least one of whom believes that her drink was spiked last year before she was assaulted.
