It was a record-breaking Christmas in North Texas, with the day earning designation as officially the warmest Christmas in history.

At 2 p.m. on Christmas Day, the temperature at DFW Airport, the region's official weather station, reached 81 degrees, surpassing the old record of 80 set five years ago.

It eventually got up to a high of 82 degrees.

We've had several warm Christmases as of late. It was 73 in 2015 and 72 in 2019.

To put that in perspective, the normal high on Christmas Day in North Texas is 56 degrees.
