The video was posted by user @mrsb111 and, in 22 hours, eclipsed 10.7 million views. The user appeared to be on a guided tour when the bear made its way by her group. In her caption, she called attention to the calmness of their seaplane captain, whose composure she said kept the rest of the group calm.
"Hey, big boy," the seaplane captain said as the bear sauntered by the group of unsuspecting visitors. One person can be heard whispering, "Holy sh--" as the camera turned to the grizzly.
At the start of the video, another bear can be seen walking down the trail path before the user turns it to the animal in front of her.
The giant creature walked up the road to where the other beast was heading, turned around, and went back in the direction it came from while cameras recorded the encounter.
When asked about the two bears in the comments, @mrsb111 responded, saying that the two had just been fighting.
Several people in the comments also pointed out that the bear possibly turned around once it got to the park sign because it "forgot its mask."
A post before this one showed numerous bears walking and looking for fish in a stream, but they were not as close as this animal was.
"Hey bear, hey bear, hey bear," the captain said to the animal as it walked away from the group. With 1.5 million likes and 29.7 thousand comments, some have called the people irresponsible.
"Super irresponsible to be in a public park in Alaska? Get a grip," @mrsb111 responded to one of the commenters.
Others have asked for more context on the encounter, but nothing else related to it has been posted.
