Minneapolis Public Schools has sent a letter to parents advising them of some changes next week due to the Derek Chauvin jury deliberations and eventual verdict.

Middle school students will be able to return to the classroom for the first time in a year as planned on Monday and Tuesday, but the district is canceling in-person instruction for all students in the district Wednesday thru Friday, with a return to distance learning.

All after school activities and sports will also be canceled on those days. School officials say they made the decision after consulting with Hennepin County public safety officials.
