There's more than one Cinderella story playing out over the past couple of weeks and many are looking forward to seeing what happens next.
"My team is Arizona, so we had an early exit this year – both in the men's and the women's," said Anjali Bal, an associate professor specializing in sports and entertainment marketing at Babson College on Monday's "Ask an Expert" with Margie Shafer and KCBS Sports anchor Steven Langford.
"Now I'm really rooting for some of these underdogs," she said. "I'm looking to see how far Princeton can go on the men’s side and some other people on the women's side."
According to Bal, there are two main factors that go into whether or not a team becomes a Cinderella story.
"I think one of the best things about March Madness for those of us who follow marketing is the fact that in most sports we don't actually have this opportunity for these huge kinds of David and Goliath matchups to go in the opposite direction," she said.
What is often found with these Cinderella teams, is that people often want the big dogs to fall, so the underdogs can succeed. And these are the types of matches people really want to tune in and watch.
