Many unvaccinated adults believe the coronavirus vaccine is a greater risk to their health than the COVID-19 disease itself, a poll has found.
The Kaiser Family Foundation released a poll on Wednesday that revealed over half of unvaccinated adults, 53%, believe getting the vaccine is more dangerous than contracting coronavirus.
In contrast, 88% of vaccinated adults said getting infected with COVID-19 is a bigger risk to health than the vaccine.
Unvaccinated adults, especially those who said they will “definitely not” get a vaccine, were less concerned with the contagious delta variant and were less confident in the effectiveness of Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson, the study found.
Many unvaccinated individuals also reportedly believed that the news media had over-exaggerated the seriousness of the pandemic.
