An F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter aircraft deployed by the U.S. Navy crashed in Death Valley National Park in California on Monday afternoon.
Search teams from the Naval Air Weapons Station deployed to find the crashed plane. Crews from Fort Irwin Army Base and the Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron also responded.

Rescuers found the pilot with minor injuries, the Navy said. The plane crashed into a remote section of the national park, which sits in the Mojave desert. No civilians were harmed as a result. First responders transported the pilot to a Las Vegas hospital.
The National Park Service said it would coordinate the crash cleanup efforts.
The Super Hornet aircraft is a twin-engine, multipurpose fighter plane that the military expects to perform well in all weather conditions.
The Navy said it is investigating with help from local authorities.
