Tyler Evans of Siskiyou County, the northernmost county in California, was reported missing by his family in early March.
Evans' dog Ali was found on Wednesday wandering near Crowfoot Road in Oregon, about an hour north of the California border. It was previously thought the duo were together.

"I am in anguish as I write this post - our son, Tyler Evans has been missing for over one week," Evans' mother Donelle Hansen-Evans wrote in a Facebook post on March 14, requesting any and all help to find her son.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office believes the missing man was traveling with Ali. "We are seeking the public's help in determining how the dog ended up off Crowfoot Road," police wrote in a statement. "If you had any contact with the missing man, picked up the dog, or have seen her in Jackson County, please contact JCSO Sgt. Shawn Richards at (541) 591-1843."
Hansen-Evans has been posting daily updates to her Facebook on the search and rescue efforts. "Nothing again today but we covered a lot of ground," she said Saturday. "We will be heading out tomorrow and would love to have horses, quads, dirt bikes, anything!!!"
She said that Monday she and her husband will have to leave the search to return back to work. "Wish we could keep it up but that's just not the way the world works," she wrote. "As parents, we are devastated beyond belief."
It is believed Evans has been missing for 12 days.
