
California’s weather prospects are looking up.
Above-normal precipitation is expected for most of the state next week based on a government agency’s nationwide precipitation outlook.

The National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center, released a map on Thursday showing rainfall from Oct. 8 to Oct. 14.
The news was cause for celebration for many monitoring the weather on the West Coast’s most drought-ridden areas.
It’s "exciting stuff," said the National Weather Service's Eureka office in a tweet, which monitors the weather in Northern California. "With some luck, we can start putting a dent in this stubborn drought."

With the forecast a week out, it’s uncertain how likely the prediction is, but it still inspires some hope.
