ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Even as the Los Angeles Rams prepare for the Super Bowl, some of their jilted fans here in St. Louis are a big step closer to getting some money back.

Rick Cornfeld is the local attorney who's been at the forefront of a lawsuit on behalf of former St. Louis PSL owners.

He says at long last the Rams have put their signature on the settlement agreement to return up to $24 million to fans who used to watch the Rams in the Dome at America's Center.

Cornfeld hopes former St. Louis fans think it's worth their time and effort to seek refunds.

"It'd be great if Stan Kroenke had to pay $24 million to fans in St. Louis, but how much he's going to have to pay depends on whether everybody puts in a claim."

Successful applicants will get about 30% of their original payout back, or up to $4500, since the Rams left town just 21 years into a 30-year agreement.

Cornfeld warns the final approval hasn't quite been granted yet.

"Once that happens, then all of the class members will receive notice of how to go about making their claim and getting their payment. That will happen within about three weeks after a judge grants his preliminary approval."
