Rush Limbaugh announces he has 'advanced lung cancer'

ST. LOUIS, Mo (KMOX) -- On his show Monday, Rush Limbaugh announced that he has 'advanced lung cancer."

Limbaugh, who is 69, said that he had been suffering shortness of breath but had thought it was asthma-related. 

He announced that he will be off the air for the next several days as he undergoes treatment. 

"Every day I'm not here, I'll be missing you and thinking about you," Limbaugh said as he signed off. 

His longtime producer tweeted about the news:
