Barnes-Jewish St. Peters co-workers purchase car for employee in need

ST. PETERS, Mo. (KMOX) — Esther Massey is a Patient Care Technician in the emergency room of Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital.
She was also desperate after her car broke down and she couldn't afford to repair it, go to nursing school and still take care of her child as a single mother.
With no other options, she was going to quit nursing school and apply the savings to a new car.
That's when her co-workers got together and came up with a plan to help Esther. 100 donations later, they raised $13,000 to get her a safe, reliable, and brand new car so she could continue on in nursing school as well as take care of her son. The dealership even took care of the taxes and licensing fees.
Here's the video of Esther being surprised with the car at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital Monday:
In addition to the car and taxes, Esther is also getting $500 in gas cards and $1,000 in cash, all from her co-workers who stepped up to help her out.
