'Spider breeding season' means more spiders come out from hiding around your home

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - While it doesn't feel like fall yet, have you noticed more spiders than usual in your house? You're not alone.
Rottler Pest and Lawn Solutions service supervisor Scott Wrozier says he's been noticing a lot more spiders on the job recently.
"A lot of species don't necessarily move in during the fall. Spiders you're seeing have been there all along," Wrozier says. "This time of year is spider breeding season. So, you're seeing a lot more of the males, starting to kind of hunt out the females, looking for a partner. So that's maybe why you're seeing them out and about more inside the house."
Wrozier says he's also noticed a lot more mosquitoes than normal for this time of year in St. Louis, likely due to the weather not being as hot and dry as years past.
