The St. Louis Blues made a big move as free agency began Friday in the National Hockey League, signing defenseman Torey Krug of the Boston Bruins to a 7-year, $45-million contract.
In an interview posted on the St. Louis Blues Twitter page Krug said he’s excited to be playing for the Blues.
“Just the depth on the team, to win year in, and year out, that’s what is important to me. That is one of the reasons I thought it would be a good match. I’m eager for the opportunity to work with these guys.”
It's now expected, with the signing of Krug, the Blues will NOT re-sign team Captain Alex Piertrangelo.
