St. Louis (KMOX) -- Congresswoman Cori Bush (D-St. Louis) packed up her camp-out on the steps of the U.S. Capitol Building. She had spent the last five nights sleeping there in protest to extend the eviction moratorium.
Those calls were answered when the CDC extended the ban on evictions until October 3.

Several lawmakers in Washington DC gave credit to the Missouri Democrat for the ruling.
Bush now says states and cities need to be more aggressive in releasing nearly $47 billion in relief for renters on the verge of eviction.
"Put pressure on those states. Put pressure on those counties," Bush said. "Make sure they're getting that money together. There is no reason why people should be in a position where they're hurting right now (by) risking eviction with that money sitting right there.
"Let us not leave a dime on the table."
There are 3,000 evictions pending in the city of St. Louis. Mayor Tishaura Jones announced $1.5 million to expedite the rental assistance application process along with legal help, and bridge housing.
Jones also wants more walk-in clinics to get people the help they need.
