ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Police say two children, possibly as young as 9- and 4-years-old were injured after police responded to a shooting Monday afternoon in south St. Louis. Witness say it was a drive-by shooting.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department says officers responded to the shooting just after noon in the 5200 block of Alabama Avenue. Police say the two children and an adult male were found with injuries and transported to a hospital.
Neighborhood witness says a gold Ford 500 pulled in front of a home and opened fire at some people. They say shots were fired back at the car as it sped off.
The children were seen being carried to an ambulance.
Police say all the victims were conscious and breathing while at the scene.
An investigation is underway, police say.
