PACIFIC, Mo. (KMOX) - Another black bear was caught on camera outside its normal habitat and climbing up a tree in a St. Louis area neighborhood this week.
Just a couple of days after a black bear was removed from Richmond Heights and let go in the wilderness, the Missouri Department of Conservation confirms there was a new credible sighting of a black bear up a tree in Pacific. Bear Expert Tom Meister says it "would be very unusual," if this were the same bear trapped and let go Sunday night.
This new bear was seen climbing a tree near E. Franklin and N. 1st Streets around 6 a.m. Tuesday. A photo of the large bear halfway up the tree is going viral on Facebook. Others also shared photos and video of the bear seen in their yards nearby.
Meister says his search of the area failed to locate the bear, his whereabouts are unknown.
