ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The tyranny of making chocolate bunnies on deadline. Crown Candy owner Andy Karandzieff is in crunch time, with customers lined up outside the door ahead of Easter Sunday.
"I love it and I hate it," Karandzieff says. "People say, 'What do you do for Easter?' I say, 'We survive it.' (On Easter Sunday) we're going to be doing nothing."
That's because his famous north St. Louis restaurant will be closed on Sunday after a record-breaking week.
Karandzieff says they'll probably set a record sales of more than 10,000 chocolate bunnies this year – thanks in large part to his wife, Cherry, selling them online.
He says it's probably too late to guarantee home delivery before Easter, but you can still order online for pickup, or just drop by the store.
