ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson announced the city will hold an invitation-only mass vaccination event at the Dome at America's Center this Saturday and Sunday.

Krewson says the Moderna vaccine will be administered both days and up to 4,000 people could be vaccinated over both days. Krewson says the City is working off their registration list, invitations started going out Wednesday afternoon.

Krewson says "in one day, usually we do about 1,500 and 2,000 vaccinations and honestly, it just depends on how many vaccinators we have, we have over 15 each day." Krewson adds, it's also dependent on how fast the line moves, "the America's Center is a location that we have not used before, we will all be able to line up inside."

Krewson says if you receive an invitation, sign up for an appointment quickly. "Show up for your appointment and also, do not pass your link along. Because when you do that, and the person isn't on the list, as having received an invitation, what ends up happening is, they end up waiting in line and they get up to the front of the line finally, and then they realize they're not on the list."

This is in addition to the Missouri sponsored mega vaccination event at Forest Park Community College next Thursday and Friday. You can sign up for that event on the state's website, it is now accepting registrations.
