ST. LOUIS, MO (KMOX) - Downtown St. Louis businesses have been holding their breath, hoping for an agreement to end a delay in the start of the baseball season.

At the Angry Beaver, a bar on Broadway, just south of the stadium, Manager T.J. Miller says a lot of Downtown bars couldn't stay open without a baseball season. He hopes players and owners get that.
"I feel like they should, but that's doesn't mean they think about it, " says Miller. "You guys already make millions of dollars, what's a little more, just play some baseball."
The St. Louis Cardinals attract more than 3 million fans a season to downtown, with 40% coming from outside the region, according to Explore St. Louis. Those those fans spend about $160 million annually.
Explore St. Louis says despite the threat of a baseball stoppage, the overall tourism and convention business is steadily recovering after two years of COVID.
