ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOX) - Mercy and Western Anesthesiology Associates have filed a lawsuit against members of the St. Louis County Council over the request to see records of County Executive Dr. Sam Page's employment history.

The lawsuit filed Monday comes after the St. Louis County Ethics Committee subpoenaed Page, alleging his part-time employment violates the county charter. He works part-time as an anesthesiologist practicing at Mercy Hospital Systems, but has said it's on his personal time on, the weekend and once per month.

One of the four ethics committee members being sued is Tim Fitch, and the question now, who will represent them, since Page vetoed a bill allowing outside legal representation.

KMOX asked Fitch if the ethics committee believes there's any amount of time that would be acceptable for Dr. Page to work for Western Anesthesiology. He said the County charter requires the County executive to dedicate all of his time to the job.

The Ethics Committee maintains this second job is a violation of the County charter.

Dr. Page declined to comment on the suit.

This is a breaking news story that will be updated.
