He says the COVID-19 numbers are declining, since a mask mandate was instated in St. Louis County months ago. In October, a judge ruled in favor of keeping a mask mandate in place in St. Louis County after Page and the County was sued by Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt.

On Friday, the numbers from the Greater St. Louis Area Pandemic Task Force show the rolling average of COVID patient hospitalizations and COVID patients in Intensive Care Units are nearly half of what they were in late September.

It comes as children in St. Louis County began to receive the vaccine on Saturday and more will be available this week. Page says 3,000 doses are on the way.
