ST. LOUIS (KMOX ) updated at 5:30 p.m. - One innocent man is dead and another is in critical condition, police say, after a suspect fleeing people crashed into another vehicle in St. Louis County, Wednesday afternoon.
The crash happened just before 3 p.m. at Bellefontaine and Jennings Station Roads. One man inside the vehicle that was hit has died and a passenger, another adult male is in the hospital in critical condition, police say.
Police say the suspect is in custody and is uninjured.
The incident began as police found the suspect vehicle wanted in an assault case in the city of St. Louis. The suspect fled in the vehicle and eventually hit the victim's vehicle.
Another person inside the suspect's vehicle was also injured.

A police pursuit ended with what appears to be a serious accident at Bellefontaine and Jennings Station Roads in north St. Louis County.

Police are asking people to avoid the area of Bellefontaine and Jennings Station, as the area has been closed to traffic since just before 3 p.m., Wednesday.
