ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A violent night in St. Louis left seven people injured and one dead after a number of shooting incidents Monday night and early Tuesday.

There was a rolling gun battle in the early morning hours of Tuesday, which caused a car to drive into the Center Cafe, connected to The Dome at America's Center on 7th and Washington Streets. Plywood has been put over the crushed and mangled front door.

The vehicle that was pulled out of the cafe had bullet holes down its side. According to Fox 2, the driver was swerving to avoid being shot and ran into another vehicle before ending up in the cafe. There have been no reports of anyone shot, but several people did go to the hospital.

Other violent incidents include four people who were shot around 11 p.m. in north St. Louis at North Broadway and Riverview Drive. Four men were shot.

In another incident around the same time, a man was shot and killed in the 5900 block of Romaine Place, police say. The 58-year-old died at the scene after he was found with multiple wounds to his torso.

KMOX spoke to people who live in downtown and they say they'd like to see more police walking the streets.
