ST. LOUIS (KM0X) - A child's birthday party became the site of a wildly violent brawl at a south St. Louis home on Monday afternoon. Police say a man was shot, another man was stabbed and multiple women were punched in the face after a domestic argument.

Three people were arrested in the incident and one male suspect/victim fled the scene before police arrived at the 3700 block of Louisiana Avenue at 5:38 p.m.

Police say the brawl began when a 22-year-old Black male and 35-year-old Black female got into an argument and the woman stabbed the man. That's when a large fight began and the man who fled the scene shot a 24-year-old Black man in the stomach. The 22-year-old also fired a gun at that man, but it's unknown if he was hit.

Two female victims were also punched in the face by multiple male victims in the brawl, police say.

The man who was shot was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition and three others, including the man who was stabbed, suffered minor injuries, police say.

An investigation is ongoing as police search for the suspected shooter.
